Aurora Mental Health Center
Educational Community Garden
The Aurora Mental Health Center wanted to create a community garden that was accessible, inclusive, and considerate of local wildlife. Inspired by permaculture practices, and in collaboration with Denver Urban Gardens, the project reflects that through its placement of an outdoor classroom, 18 raised vegetable beds, a fruit tree orchard, and a medicinal herb garden. Clients and staff at the Aurora Mental Health Center, volunteers, and the local community now look forward to spending time in the garden.
